96-impala-ss Discussion starter. 5 posts · Joined 2003. #1 · Dec 27, 2003. Hello, I have a 87 kx 500, the spark is so low it wont start. I changed to coil, cdi box, and the stator coil. Still it has a low spark. My question is would the rotor make have low spark? thank you for your help.

The CR has much more aftermarket add-ons available, and it is easier to find. The KX is butt-ugly IMO. The KX500 has a PWK carburetor (the one thing better than what comes stock on the CR500) The CR500's carburetor still works great, and is easier to tune than the PWK's are.
